Born in Cyprus, 1972. Based in Greece, with a studio presence in Athens and Nicosia. Member of the Hellenic and Cypriot Chambers of Fine Arts.
Stavros Georgiou is a self-taught artist. War, displacement and loss shaped his life, and they shape his work.
Through sculpture and painting he turns personal pain into statements about peace and rights. He believes that even in suffering, people must not lose their capacity for hope.
